A chain collar should fit snugly… buy the smallest size you can get over your dog’s head (10-inch, 12-inch, 14-inch, 16-inch, 18-inch, 20-inch, 22-inch, or 24-inch). Don’t leave the collar on your dog when he’s unsupervised or playing with other dogs! |
Pinch collars with smaller links are usually the best choice, even for bigger dogs… you can buy packs of extra links to make the collar longer, if needed. This collar has a quick-release snap so you’ll have an easier time getting the collar on and off! |
This rather adorable teeny-tiny pinch collar is a great choice for dogs under 10 lbs. You may need to buy extra links to assure a proper fit. |
Most of my clients will not need a remote training collar, but I sometimes recommend them for specific behavior issues. Please don’t buy a remote trainer without talking to me first… but if I’ve told you to get one, this is it! |
Though I generally don’t recommend harnesses for long-term use, some of my clients like to use this harness to minimize pulling during the initial phase of training, then we switch to a training collar when it’s time to teach your dog proper leash walking manners. |
